Week 5 and Week 118!

William is 5 weeks old this week.  He is getting bigger everyday and is a very happy baby!  We've had a couple of longer stretches of sleep at night which has been very nice.  It's amazing that 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep is such a blessing!!  Emily definitely spoiled us as far as sleep goes, and now she has started sleeping later a lot of mornings which is definitely helpful.

Emily is 118 Weeks old!  She now officially says Emily instead of Emmy when she says her name.  It seems her language and pronunciation has really been improving lately.  She was outside this week and since it got so suddenly hot she wasn't used to it and threw up all of the water she was drinking.  She now says that she "spit out" and anytime William spits up a little bit she says the same thing.

We had a really nice Memorial Day weekend spent with family.  I think Emily had enough hot dogs to last a lifetime, but it was fun!!

Here are some pics of our fun...

William Week 4 and Emily Week 117!

William is 4 weeks old!  One month has passed already!  He is getting big, growing out of most of his newborn sized clothes already.  He smiled at us this week and started making a new happy noise also.  I can't believe how much he changes everyday.  I know I should believe it as I went through it all with Emily, but I just can't!! Emily started something new this week too, taking off her pajamas after we put her to bed.  This girl loves to be naked!!!  At least she kept the diaper on.  Hopefully this does not become a habit, but at least it's getting to be summer!  Oh wait, it's been cold and rainy all week and it doesn't look like it's getting better anytime soon.  Where is spring?  William waited for the nice weather and I think the day we came home from the hospital is one of the best we've had in the last month! Emily has also finally saying water instead of wa wa.  I think its interesting how language develops and habits are formed.  She has been able to say water for a long time, but kept saying wa wa since she's been saying it for so long.  Here are some pictures from our week...

Emily loves to play with William in his "play map".

She loves the play map!

William Week 3 & Emily Week 115

William is 3 weeks old already!  Time is surely flying by.  He is growing and changing so much already.  He is starting to be awake a little bit during the day (well, mostly at night) but we get to see those eyes open!  He is really starting to pick his head up a lot and is starting to follow things with his eyes.  His sleepy smiles are even starting to be awake smiles.  Emily loves having Will around and is always trying to play with him and help him out.  She is a great big sister.  We made it out of the house a couple of times this week without Daddy!  We went to a friend's house and to the park.  Emily and Mommy really needed some time out and William enjoyed it too.  Here are some pics of our fun.

Hanging out in the swing.

Emily loves Will to be in his playmat.  I think he likes it too!

William Week 2 & Emily Week 115

I can't believe William is 2 weeks old already.  Emily is doing great with him.  She loves holding him, hugging him, and just checking him out.  She does have her moments and isn't always too fond of me feeding him, but other than that things are going really well.  We've settled into a nice nap every afternoon which makes Mommy really happy!  Now I can only hope the luck continues and I can keep both kids sleeping at the same time in the afternoon!  Mommy needs a nap too.  We had some more visitors this week so William got to meet more of our friends and family.  Aunt Erin wins the prize as the first visitor to arrive by airplane.  We took our first big car trip on Saturday and went to Gia and Pepa's house where we had a nice dinner with more family.  On Sunday my wonderful husband and children gave me the perfect Mother's Day.  It was a nice relaxing day that began with Emily waking me up (after 8 o'clock!!!) to tell me that breakfast was ready.  She and Daddy made "Mom" pancakes for me.  After a nice breakfast we took Will to the park for the first time.  He seemed to enjoy sleeping in a new place while Emily played.    I am blessed to have such a wonderful family.  Here are some pics of our fun.
