Emily's Dance Recital

Here are some pics of our big girl at her dance recital.  She had a great time.  She really loves the stage.  My favorite part would be when she improved little butt wiggles when she didn't know what else to do!!  Or maybe she thought it was better than the moves she was supposed to be doing!!!  Either way, she was up on the big stage having fun and that's what it's all about!!!

All ready for dress rehearsal!

Pretty dancer

They tried for a long time to get the perfect group shot.  I'm not sure they ever got one!!

Emily loves her flowers...Thanks Grammie!!!

More Challenge Pics

I am finding this challenge pretty challenging...especially finding the time every day to take the pics I want and have the right setting...here are some of the best I've got!  Some are better than others, but the subjects in them all are super cute!!!

Day 8:  Silhouette Shot - My first ever attempts at silhouettes.  These were taken at the quarry.  The first one is my Mom and William and the second is Mike and Emily.  I had fun with this one!

Day 9:  Crying or having a meltdown - Guess what William is crying about here?  The fact that he can see the Entenmann's box and Mommy is making him eat something else before his doughnut!!

Day 10:  Holding Hands with someone - The only pic I was able to get of them holding hands.  They were just not in the mood!  Came out pretty good though I think!

Day 11:  Tiny Feet

Day 12:  Eating Breakfast

Day 13:  Shoot from above them - This one was tough to be able to be up high and keep them still enough to take a picture.  So, the best ones I got were William in his high chair...he was stuck!!!

Day 14:  What they do during quiet time -  Quiet time?  What's that?  I should have taken a picture of them sleeping!  Here's one of Emily watching some tv in the morning.

Day 15:  Playing outside - I love the water splashes in this pic.

Day 16:  Interacting with siblings/friends - Here are Emily and Connor playing in the sprinkler at Aunt Carol's house.  They had a blast playing all day!  (this pic was taken on my small camera, but just so cute of the two of them in the sprinkler together!!)

Day 17:  Walking away - There's just something about this picture I like.  The crazy hair and outfit perhaps?  I've taken a lot of walking away pics, but this one just seems a little different.  :)

Week 61 and Week 174

William is 61 weeks old.  His newest words of note are "NO!", "GO!", and "Car Car".  I am sure he learned no, because he hears that one a lot!  William is always getting into things and making messes!!  He loves being outside and whenever we are getting ready to go and I say "Let's Go!" he runs to the door, bangs on it and says "Go, Go, Go!"  He also enjoys looking out the window at the cars and says "car car" or "cuck" whenever he sees a car or truck.  We had some trees cut down this week and William LOVED watching the trucks and didn't mind the sound of the chipper at all!  He's a boy, loves his trucks, and enjoys getting dirty!! We love our little boy!!!

Emily is 174 weeks old and she is our little princess!!  We're still working on wearing underwear to bed at night but she is dry more nights than she's wet which is good!

We had a fun weekend at Kevin's Graduation/Confirmation party and spending some time with Eddie and Carrie.  Here are some pics of our fun...

Good Morning, Emily!

Love her style!

Fun with water!

We wanna go outside!!!
We got all ready and went out to play with water and then clouds rolled in and the thunder started...that fun was short lived, so they just stared outside for awhile!!

Water table fun!

Flowers for Mama...Emily loves picking flowers for me!

I'll post some pics from Kevin's party in another post...I still have to download the pics from my other camera!!

Week 60 and Week 173

William is 60 weeks old.  We've been super busy and William's been super active!  We spent the week getting ready for the big Father's Day/birthday weekend!

Emily is 173 weeks old.  She had her first dentist appointment this week and did awesome!  She was pretty excited about going and was a great patient.  Unfortunately it appears she inherited her Mommy's small mouth and not her Daddy's "perfect" one!  We'll see what happens as she grows!

We had a fun weekend.  We went to the quarry on Saturday to celebrate Father's Day and then the kiddos went to Gia and PePa's house on Sunday while Mommy and Daddy went to the Beach Boys concert.  We had a great time and so did the kids!  I hope Gia has recovered from chasing after them for a day!!!

Here are some pics of our fun...

Check out my nice sparkly teeth!

Practicing flossing the big mouth!

William loved the balloon from the dentist

30 Day Challenge

After owning my camera for 2.5 years I have finally decided/found the time to learn how to use it in full manual mode.  I've been doing some reading and decided to try a 30 day challenge of taking creative pictures of my kids.  Each day has a different prompt to attempt.  Some are easier than others, especially with 2 subjects who do not always do what I want them to!!!  It would be much easier if they didn't move so much!!!  Anyway, I'm having fun so far and learning as I go.  I hope to do this again once I have more practice and see how the pictures compare.  If you have any suggestions or critiques please feel free to share, I want to learn!

Here are some examples from the first few days of the challenge.

Day1:  You and your child.  Of course I didn't take this one, but I made sure we were together.  Thanks for taking this one Mike!!

Day 2:  A picture of your child sleeping.  I love his little sleepy feet next to the "Things That Go" book.

Day 3:  Reading their favorite book.  This one was kinda tough since you can't make kids read if they aren't in the mood!  And somehow I didn't take any pics at bedtime either.

Day 4:  Running around Playing.  This one was tough on a rainy day when we went to the mall!

Not really running, but playing and so typical boy holding the doll by her leg!

Peek a boo!

Day 5:  With their favorite stuffed animal.  I liked this one!!

Watching TV with her one and only Snuggie Bear!

Baby hands.

Day 6:  Crack the door and see what they're doing.  This one was tough since they were with me all day!   Didn't have too many opportunities to take a pic without them knowing I was there.

Caught them playing kitchen together.

Day 7:  Playing in the tub.  I had fun with this one, but since they were moving so much while splashing I had trouble keeping the right things in focus.  Something to work on.

Big splash!

The I just dumped cold water on my head face.

Happy boy in the bath.
