My Baby is FIVE!

Where has the time gone?  My baby is growing up so fast!  I've definitely had my moments leading up to her birthday and thinking of Kindergarten, but I kept it together and her birthday was just a fun weekend of celebrating!  It's really hard to be emotional when watching Emily be so excited about every little thing! We didn't do a big birthday party this year, but ended up with several smaller celebrations!  We started on Friday with lunch with a couple of her girlfriends from school.  Then dancing on Saturday followed by a family dinner at Gia and PePa's.  Sunday we went to the movies to see Frozen with her buddies AC, Evan, and Grace.  They had an absolute blast in the front row of the theater!  Monday we celebrated with our MOMS Club friends, and finally due to all the snow on Wednesday she got to celebrate with cupcakes at school.  Emily is one lucky and very loved little girl!

Emily is growing and maturing everyday.  She is super excited for kindergarten and reminds me constantly that she is 5!  She is on the verge of reading, always asking (or telling) me what letters words start with and starting to be able to sound things out.  She also just learned to count to 100 and beyond!  Everyday she gets a little further.  She can tell you exactly which number she made it to last...probably 123 or something random!  She loves ordering for herself at restaurants and wants to do everything herself whenever possible.  I was super proud to see her on stage at her dance competition.  She got called to the microphone to accept her team's award and except for not remembering the name of her dance studio talked and answered all the questions and had a great time.  The whole audience said Happy Birthday to her which she loved!  Yup, my little girl loves being in the spotlight.  She got a karaoke machine and the Frozen soundtrack for her birthday, so we have quite the singing sessions everyday.  Even William loves getting in on the action.  I can't wait to see what the next year with my little princess will bring.

Here are some five year old pics...more on my phone of course!   I'll download them soon.
