Week 29 and Week 142

William is 29 weeks old.  He is just growing so much every day!  He is now 17 lbs 12 oz and 27 in long.  Will is sitting much better and loves playing with his "big kid" toys.  For the past few weeks he's been saying Mama...it's only when he is crying and it really sounds like he is calling for me!  At least I like to think so anyway!!  As much as I can't wait for him to reach all of these great milestones, I also don't want my baby to grow up so fast.

Emily is 142 weeks old and is showing her independence a little more.  When we go to the playground, she really only comes to me when she wants to go on the swings.  She is off and climbing and sliding on her own!  She also had an awesome week at dance class.  She just walked right in and was great for the whole class, not a single tear!  Hopefully she continues with that attitude!  We'll see what next week brings.

Here are some pics of our fun this week...

Weeks 27 & 28 and Weeks 140 &141

The last two weeks have been quite a blur, so it's only fitting that there's one post for them!  We spent last week preparing for William's baptism on Sunday, October 30.  And of course, there's a story...

There was talk of snow coming all week, but I kept choosing to ignore it.  It's October and even if it snows, it won't be that much, right?  WRONG!  It started snowing Saturday morning around 8:30 and we got about 18 inches total!  Since all of the trees still have their leaves, many branches fell and Mike spent a lot of the day outside cutting up branches and shoveling.  We lost power around 3:30 in the afternoon and had no idea what we were in for.  We were still convinced all would be ok the next morning as the snow was slowing down and the roads were looking better.  Well, the power was out all night, both kids were sick and did not sleep much, woke up miserable, yet we were still convinced this baptism was going to happen (or we just hadn't given in to what was inevitable).  We still had no power, had no idea if the church had power or the restaurant, but the sun was out and the road was clear, so the power would come back on soon and we would be fine, right?  WRONG! After all we had friends and family travel quite a distance to be here.  We've been planning this since August, it was all going to work out just fine.  Mike and I finally decided to cancel and started spreading the word.  Probably 2 minutes later the pastor called us to let us know the church had power and heat and was all plowed and ready to go.  My first thought, can we uncancel???  Luckily we didn't.  I had been trying to call the restaurant and it was always busy.  They finally called me and told me the restaurant had no power, so we made a good call.  So, as we're freezing in our house, driveway clear, sun shining, we pack a few things and head to the Beattie's.  They had power and at least we'd get to see Erin who flew up from Georgia.  Four days and a couple of loads of laundry later (who knew we'd be gone so long...) the power finally comes back and we head home.  We had a great time visiting with Gia and Pepa, had fun Trick or Treating in their neighborhood, but it was definitely nice to be home!  The snow is gone, but the debris is still all over, and there are still places who have no power.  I guess we should consider ourselves lucky. Who knew this little October snow storm would cause so much damage.

Anyway, through these two weeks William has tried some new foods and just eats it all up.  He's definitely a boy and seems to have a bottomless pit already!  He's also sitting up a lot more and is not so happy to lay down and play anymore.  He wants to be up!!!  William is becoming such a big boy, but just as happy as ever!  I love his smiles!

Emily's big accomplishment...she can ride a bike!  She finally figured out how to pedal the tricycle herself and love it!  She doesn't really have too many opportunities to ride, but had a great time working on her skills at Gia and Pepa's this week.

Week 26 and Week 139!

William is 26 weeks old.  He was 6 months old yesterday!  This half year has gone by in a flash.  Will is much more alert, getting closer to sitting on his own, and really having a lot of fun.  He's always happy!!!

Emily is 139 weeks old and is now 2 2/3 years old!  We spent some time watching some old home videos and it really is amazing how much she is growing and maturing everyday.  I don't notice it day to day, but just looking back 6 months ago its amazing how she is so much more little girl than baby!!  Time is really flying and that video camera will be coming out more often, because it really is fun to go back and watch!!

We had another great week and weekend.  Saturday we went pumpkin picking with Gia and PePa and Sunday was the MOMS Club Halloween party.  Our family monster costumes were a hit and we had a great time.
